Responsibilities:
The wireless systems architect will be a part of the architecture team and responsible for architecting and designing carrier class wireless value added services. The wireless systems architect will be r network creating solutions architectures for mobile services.
1. Create workable system wide network solution architectures and designs for the mobile services meeting business and technical requirements.
2. Analyze business requirements to create functional, architecture and design requirements/specifications for mobile wireless services.
3. Create business and technical use cases in order to make sure the proposed architecture and design meets business objectives. Assist in devising test strategy.
4. Advise and consult test and deployment teams on architecture and design related aspect of the mobile services.
5. Provide fourth/fifth tier of support to operations for issues related to mobile wireless services.
6. Work with the vendors to make sure that the design meets reliability, performance, security and operations guidelines.
Qualifications:
1. Must have BS/BA in or Engineering or Computer Science or related discipline and generally 5-8 years of experience in related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field.
2. Strong technical background in architecting and designing value added services in for carrier class wireless networks.
3. Experience in wireless switching core infrastructure with focus on CDMA.
4. Must have a thorough understanding and first hand experience of the call-flows in CDMA based switching network, including MSC, HLR and wireless IN.
5. A thorough, design and architecture level, understanding of mobile data client server architecture, supplementary services, SMS, MMS, WAP, LBS, voice session control, Directory Assistance and Unified Communications,
6. Must have understanding of the enhanced voice features in the wireless switching infrastructure and wireless IN environment.
7. A thorough understanding of mobile messaging, including voice mails and emails.
8. Must have experience with TDM and IP based fixed network technology that includes design and implementation of soft switching, TCP/IP, VoIP, Mobile IP, Home Agent, SIP, Sigtran, WIN, SS7, SMPP, SMTP, IMAP.
9. Must have a broad understanding of mobile handset clients, OTA technology and client interaction with network based mobile services.
10. An exposure to IMS in mobile network environment and LTE standards is desired.
11. Knowledge of Mobile Internet standards including Wi-Fi, OMA, IETF & 3GPP2.
12. Knowledge of software system architecture for mobile services and real time network elements.
13. Ability to cope in a dynamic start-up environment that requires interrupt-driven multi-tasking in response to constantly shifting priorities.
14. Ability to work with minimum supervision, learn quickly on the job in a fast paced environment, and proactively contribute as an experienced subject matter expert.
15. Demonstrated ability to combine engineering/technical expertise with business and financial acumen to achieve corporate goals.
16. Demonstrated ability to flourish in a highly collaborative team environment where personal influence and credibility supersedes formal title based authority, and skill in solving complex problem.
17. Analytical problem solving skills and the ability to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways.
18. Good Communication skills (both verbal and written) in English.
19. Travel less than 25% may be required.
