We have “Hot Opportunities” in Aliso Viejo for a well funded technology company that develops solutions for computing, consumer, hand-held, and hand-set devices. This company offers excellent benefits, stock options, and stability. The position involves developing, testing and maintenance of WiMedia MAC utilizing Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radio.

Responsibilities include:

* Design and development of WiMedia MAC protocol features
* Protocol firmware and hardware integration, simulation, and testing
* Advanced testing and benchmarking of the MAC layer

Requirements: 

Wireless Protocols Software Engineer Qualifications:

* Development experience with wireless protocols such as WiMedia MAC, 802.11, 802.15, and 802.16 as part of an SoC project
* Good understanding of MAC architecture and QoS issues in wireless networks
* Expert in C/C++ programming with full understanding of compiling and linking processes
* Embedded software debugging experience (JTAG debugging and protocol analyzer)
* Solid understanding of embedded operating systems and programming practices
* Good communication skills and highly motivated for a start-up environment

Preferences:

* Familiarity with USB, SDIO, and PCI interfaces
* SoC software design practices including code profiling and cache analysis
* Experience with SoC prototyping and the development cycle

Education and Experience Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of working experience or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of working experience
* Past employment with an SoC/ASIC development company (highly preferred)
