Position Purpose:
Establishes strategic vision for the forecast and optimization of handset and accessories throughout the enterprise. Guides activities for the forecasting, planning and analysis of those materials. Will manage the organizational design and build-out of the new enterprise planning team while achieving key deliverables that will contribute to meeting enterprise wide initiatives. Responsible for enhancing our processes and technological capabilities around Business Planning and Reconciliation, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Management, Retail Replenishment and Assortment planning on par with other wireless retailers. Will oversee and provide overall direction to the Enterprise Planning and Analysis team which includes Inventory Operations, Order Management, and Forecast Planning.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a weekly forecasting process that utilizes both quantitative and qualitative analysis to create forecasts.
- Ensures products get to the market as quickly as possible
- Responsible for minimizing obsolete inventory
- Understand competitors’ strengths, weaknesses and strategies.
- Partner with other functional groups to establish the customer assortment of choice
- Develop and maintain key business relationships that encourage partnerships that result in the completion of collaborative goals.
- Partner with EIT to develop a holistic systems roadmap
- Work with SVP of Retail Sales and Retail Partner Sales to develop a comprehensive Retail Strategy to increase market share.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure proper consistent line-up coverage in light of lead times, vendor reliability and performance and media curves and plans
- Review purchase plans to ensure they meet budget and maximize all vendor agreements.
Position Requirements:
Functional/Technical Skills
- Demonstrated record of influencing and decision making at multiple levels in an organization
- Excellent collaboration and consensus building skills
- Core understanding of direct-to-consumer business
- Demonstrated track record of employing advanced process improvement models to serve up a consumer value proposition
- Ability to work independently with little direction and can make decisions when they need to be made.
Experience
- 10+ years of relevant senior level experience working for a large national multi-channel retail organization
- 5+ years of broad functional combined experience in at least two of the following: Marketing, Supply Chain Planning, Forecasting or Demand Planning
- System deployment experience with contemporary Retail suite of systems for planning and replenishment, ERP and/or buying tools.
- Experience with a wireless carrier or a consumer goods manufacturer or retailer strongly preferred
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
