Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to deliver project management leadership and expertise in a technical wireless network marketplace
  • Ability to manage large number of multiple voice and data projects simultaneously in a highly changing and time sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with vendors, turn-keys, and internal suppliers to facilitate completion of projects utilizing cost, time and scope constraints
  • Proactively manage and direct multi-discipline integrated project plan development for Fixed Network and RF Access project initiatives.  Provide key leadership and own the entire project lifecycle process.
  • Drive cross-functional/cross departmental policies and procedures as well as the development of wireless intelligent network architecture voice and data tactical plans.
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned and continue to develop and improve program management processes.
  • Develop tactical project plans, accounting for scheduling and the deliverables, action item and resolution tracking, and executive management reporting.
  • Analyze, design and document to Network Engineering, Operations and other affected organizations various project plan initiatives for the regional markets, including appropriate investment, policies and procedures.
  • Provide support with management the Network Capital budget and growth planning and implementation process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in the areas of managing, designing and/or maintaining wireless telecommunications networks or 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of voice and data switch architectures, transport (facility), and intelligent network architecture planning.
  • Proven and Demonstrated ability to lead others in a technical environment.
  • Provide project management leadership to ensure project deadlines and milestones are met.  Communicate progress; manage risk contingencies and market expectations.
  • Document user requirements to support implementation of new network equipment.
  • Inventory management and control experience in a PeopleSoft /Oracle environment is desired.
  • Basic Accounting principles and fixed assets understanding.
  • Experience with project management of Emergency Preparedness Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution experience desired.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and daily goals.
  • Must be well organized and able to work under time pressure.
  • Proficiency and expertise of PC’s and general office applications software MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Proficiency and knowledge with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera project management software.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business and/or Finance
Master’s degree in related technical discipline and/or MBA preferred

Certifications:  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Other:  Technical Certifications from Nortel, ALU and Cisco desired
