Job Purpose
This position reports to a Sales Manager and provides sales support for the RSC, BSC, Retail Stores and alternate sales channels. He / She will provide technical evaluations, sales proposals and scheduling of customers’ home security solutions. In addition, the Security Sales Specialist will provide support in the ideation, development, and interoperability of new converged solutions that integrate Home Security, Broadband, Networking, and Cellular products and services.
Essential Functions
Interact with customers, technicians, account managers, and personnel in other departments to design / propose security solutions for customer’s premises, assuring proper ordering, and serve as a point of contact for customers regarding technical, scheduling, and general customer care questions. 60%
Contact Sales leads generated from various sales channels. 10%
Develop and maintain a high degree of product/service expertise on the wide array of existing and emerging security solutions. 10%
Completely understand and communicate competitor’s strategies, strengths and vulnerabilities and utilize to meet sales objectives. 10%
Performs limited customer training as required. 10%
Education
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Experience / Background
3 to 5 years
Accreditation / Certification / Licenses
Network + Certification a plus
Previous Job Experience
Prior experience in sales, preferably in home security, broadband / networking industries.
Prior customer service skills
Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Must be familiar with premise security solutions, particularly Honeywell Products related to burglary, smoke, carbon monoxide, and water monitoring.
Strong technical knowledge regarding the array of Cincinnati Bell products and services which impact emerging premise security solutions such as broadband, wireless / wired broadband networking, and cellular products and services.
Awareness and understanding of current and emerging in-home wireless standards such as 802.11, HomePlug 1.0, Z-wave, Zigbee, and UltraWideband
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Proven sales skills
Proven project and time management skills
Office automation skills
