Description:
As an integral part of a Carrier Sales team the Systems Engineer works closely with Regional Sales Managers who call on Tier 1 Carriers like Sprint, Verizon Wireless, and others, and MSOs like Comcast, Time-Warner and others. Among a variety of day-to-day activities carried out from their home based virtual office or face to face with the customer, the System Engineer will provide technical pre-and post sales support of advanced Test Equipment sales opportunities within assigned accounts in the eastern territory. He/she will provide RFP/RFQ/RFI support and perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers and will support customers with products evaluation, bake-offs and provide post sales support as needed.

Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelors in Computer Science/Networking or equivalent technical degree or equivalent in experience.
- 5+ years of networking industry experience; Ethernet network equipment test/certification is strongly desired.
- Pre-sales and/or post-sales or QA experience is desired (e.g., Sales Engineer, Customer Support Engineer, Test Engineer)
- Technical background and understanding of Ethernet and Voice switching, routing, and IP Protocols.
- Knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, services and applications including Ethernet, Metro Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, MPLS VPNs, QoS, VoIP, SIP, MGCP and TCP.
- Must be able to translate and document customer needs into requirements
- Highly organized and possess a keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
- Must be able to operate independently juggling multiple competing priorities.
- Must be able to quickly pick up on new technologies and tools.
- Must be willing to be on the road; requires a minimum of 50% travel.
- Candidate must posess excellent oral and written communication skills on complex technical and sales issues.
- Candidate must posses a keen technical mind capable of quickly grasping new technologies.
