TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives.
- Develops own resources to solve problems and provides imaginative solutions to a variety of moderately complex problems.
- Assumes responsibility for a definable portion of a project. Work projects typically will involve providing input/guidance to Product Design groups regarding design concepts and specification requirements to ensure best utilization of equipment, manufacturing techniques, key issues for manufacturing both internal and outsourced and conformity to customer requirements.
- Designs, develops and transfers manufacturing engineering tools, strategies and systems; incorporating inspection and test requirements into production plans.
- Inspects performance of machinery equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates/initiates corrective action.
- Designs and plans the sequence and layout for various processes involved in the manufacture of product. Implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects for specific products/processes via statistical process control techniques. FREEDOM TO ACT WITHIN TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
- Completes assigned tasks with minimal supervision; Work is periodically reviewed for application of professional judgment; Assistance is furnished on unusual problems; and Evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, processes and criteria.
- IMPACT Work impacts business unit goals.
- COMMUNICATION Contacts are primarily internal with occasional customer and supplier contacts.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in industrial engineering or related four (4) year technical degree.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an emphasis on manufacturing processes.
- Good time management skills.
- Must possess good oral/written communication skills.
- Able to effectively work on project teams consisting of departmental and/or cross-functional personnel.
- Trained, experienced in designing tools and packaging in SolidWorks. Evaluates, justifies and writes procedures for set up and training on new capital equipment.
